Helena Freitas destaca biodiversidade como infraestrutura viva da resiliência urbana no Company’s Day 2025

Helena Freitas, Coordinator of the Centre for Functional Ecology (CFE) and member of the TERRA Associate Laboratory, participated as a keynote speaker at Company’s Day 2025: Water for the Future, held on December 4 at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto.

Recognized as one of the most prominent figures in biodiversity and ecology in Portugal, the CFE/TERRA researcher presented the keynote lecture entitled “Biodiversity as a Living Infrastructure for Urban Resilience.” Her contribution was part of a program that brought together organizations from different sectors, fostering dialogue and the exchange of innovative solutions to strengthen collective resilience.

Company’s Day, an annual initiative of the FEUP Prime Programme, has been partnered with Águas do Douro e Paiva since 2020 and aims to bring together business, scientific, and academic dynamics, while promoting talent and knowledge generation. The 2025 edition focused on the major challenges facing the water sector, bringing together experts to discuss the resilience of critical entities, a multisectoral vision of resilience, and the convergence between innovation and resilience.
