On June 27, the Ílhavo Maritime Museum will host the “One Health: Science Aboard the Santa Maria Manuela” conference.
These conferences are based on the scientific expedition conducted in June 2024, which brought together researchers to explore some of the ocean’s main challenges and potential. From cetacean monitoring to the study of the biotechnological potential of marine microorganisms in the discovery of new bioactive compounds, the projects developed on board reflect the close interconnection between human, animal, and environmental health.
