Webinar It’ll all work out somehow, again.” The Resilience Paradox and the interpretation of local climate change impacts by rural older people

Currently, we are witnessing an increased academic interest in the intersection between climate change and population ageing. Most of the studies focus on how climate change adversities impact the health, well-being, and everyday life of older adults in various contexts, some focus on how population ageing contributes to changing climate and environmental decline and a few also focus on how older generations help to mitigate or adapt themselves and their communities in the context of climate change and environmental decline. In my presentation, we’ll start by outlining the complex relationship among these overlapping phenomena and present the key theoretical framings: vulnerability theory and its application in climate and the “new” environmental gerontology.
