Helena Pereira

Helena Pereira. Chemical engineer, doctor in natural sciences, with habilitation in forest sciences. She has 45 years of academic career with teaching, research and top management positions. She is emeritus professor at the University of Lisbon, School of Agriculture (ISA). She was president and vice-president of Fundação para a Ciència e a Tecnologia (FCT), rector and vice-rector of the Technical University of Lisbon. Her R&D area is in engineering and technologies, including forestry, materials, chemistry and biology. She was the coordinator of 7 EU projects and 15 national projects, and partner coordinator in over 20 EU and national projects. She supervised 40 PdDs, 36 MsDs and 13 postdocs. She published over 400 papers in indexed international journals, 40 book chapters and 3 books. She was inventor in 2 international patents. She received 7 awards and prizes.
