TERRA reinforces its commitment to supporting scientific activity with a new FAQ page
The TERRA Associate Laboratory has made a new information resource available on its official website to support the scientific community in adopting good practices in data management, open access, and responsible research.
As part of Open Science Month, celebrated in October, the TERRA Associate Laboratory reinforces its commitment to promoting more transparent, inclusive, and collaborative scientific practices. As part of this mission, a new Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) page has been launched on its official website.
The initiative aims to support researchers, students, and institutions in adopting best practices by offering clear and accessible guidance on topics such as Open Science, best practices in research data management, and open access publishing in accordance with FCT policy.
This new page is part of TERRA’s ongoing effort to provide resources to support scientific research. Previously, the Laboratory had already made key documents available on its website, such as the Code of Ethical Conduct,the Opportunity Equality Plan, and the Research Data Management (RDM) (access here).
Open Science plays a central role in promoting more transparent, collaborative, and accessible scientific practices, contributing decisively to the advancement of knowledge. Open Science is at the heart of European research policy, serving as an operational model that aims to make science more efficient, collaborative, and aligned with the needs of society. Portugal has also been consolidating its political commitment to Open Science through instruments such as Council of Ministers Resolution No. 21/2016 and Decree-Law No. 63/2019, which establish clear guidelines to ensure free access to scientific knowledge and foster interaction with society.
With this new Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) page, TERRA aims to facilitate access to essential information about policies and procedures that promote responsible knowledge sharing, contributing to a more inclusive and sustainable scientific culture.
The page is available at labterra.pt/frequently-asked-questions and will be updated regularly with new content and clarifications.
